Civil Process

The Civil Process Section of the St Clair County Sheriff’s office manages evictions, summons and subpoenas within St Clair County.

 

 

The Civil Process Section consists of: A Sergeant who oversees the day to day operation of the section, both inside and outside the office; One merited deputy who are assigned to handle replevins, evictions and other enforceable orders in addition to making proper service and returns of all papers directed to the Sheriff to be served or enforced; The civilian process servers are assigned to designated service areas.  Process servers work normal office hours but will often adjust their schedule in an effort to complete their services.
 
The Civil Process Section is open to the public from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Sheriff's fee for serving or attempting to serve summons on each defendant in the County; for serving or attempting to serve an order of judgement granting injunctive relief; for serving or attempting to serve each garnishee; for serving or attempting to serve an order of replevin; for serving.
